WHAT IT IS:
A facial contouring and highlighting kit for fair to medium skin tones.
HOW IT LOOKS/FEELS:
The palette contains two matte sculpting powders (a pale, ashy brown and a chocolate brown with orange undertones, both of which smell faintly of cocoa powder) plus two highlighting powders (one is matte beige and the other a sparkly champagne color). It also comes with a mirror and tiny angled kabuki brush with synthetic bristles that's as soft as a teddy bear.
WHY WE LIKE IT:
This handy palette takes the guesswork out of contouring and highlighting. It contains all the shades you need if you have fair skin with yellow undertones or a medium or olive complexion (they're too dark for very pale, rosy skin and too light for dark skin), as well as an easy-to-follow guide showing you three different ways to contour your face. The powders are very finely milled, making them so soft that they blend into the skin almost as easily as creams. We also like that they have both a matte and sparkly highlighter depending on your personal preference; that said, the shimmery powder is very shimmery and should be used only in the evening and in small amounts. The brush is the perfect size for buffing the sheer powders along the jawline, the hollows of the cheeks, and along the sides of the forehead, but it's too big for being precise around the sides of the nose. And while we love that it feels cuddly soft, it's almost too plush to really buff the powders into the skin. We get the best results when using our own full-size makeup brushes.
