lorac pro vs urban decay naked & naked 2 } ~

Eyeshadow palettes are a beautiful thing. They’re convenient, compact, and easy to store and/or tote around.

1. Matte shades. The Naked palettes are awesome but they definitely lack in matte colors. The LORAC Pro palette has 8 matte shades ranging from white to black, with every other neutral, wearable shade in between.

2. Less Fallout. The Naked shimmery colors are absolutely stunning on the lids, but fallout is inevitable. I haven’t noticed this issue so far with LORAC, but will update this post should I start running into this in the future.

3. Lightweight. The packaging of LORAC Pro is super sleek, thin, and light. The Naked palettes are a bit thicker and heavier, especially Naked 2 with the tin casing. The downside of the LORAC packaging is that it will get dirty and fingerprint-y (SAT word) very fast – a la NARS packaging.

4. Accessories. This is where Urban Decay takes the cake. The LORAC palette came with a primer but no brush, whereas the Nakeds come with a brush AND a primer or gloss.

It’s worth mentioning that there are a few colors that are VERY similar in these palettes. I compared a few shades from the Naked 2 to the LORAC Pro palette, and you can see below how similar they are:

Can you guess which hand has the Naked 2 swatches & which is LORAC?

Overall you can’t go wrong with any of these palettes – all of them have beautiful, wearable colors for everyday or a night out. My current favorite is LORAC Pro due to it’s wide selection of matte shades and hardly any fallout – and it also comes in at $42 as opposed to $50 for the Urban Decay palettes.

Do you own any of these? Which is your favorite?
